N.T. Wright, in his book, Simply Jesus, says, “Jesus—the Jesus we might discover if we really looked is larger, more disturbing, more urgent than we had ever imagined.  We have successfully managed to hide behind other questions and to avoid the huge, world-shaking challenge of Jesus’s central claim and achievement.”

In January we are beginning a sermon series called “The Story of Jesus.”  Many of us have heard of Jesus and may even know a lot about him.  But what was Jesus really all about?  Who did he claim to be?  What was actually the point of his ministry?  And why–I mean really, why–does Jesus matter in 21st Century South Washington County?  Might the real Jesus have something more beautiful, more challenging, more adventurous for you than what you’re living?
