THE FERNANDEZ FAMILY
The mission field has become a mission force. Christianity is spreading rapidly in the Southern Hemisphere, including Latin America. Local churches there are in need of leadership developement and vision to become churches that also send missionaries. St. Luke, in partnership with World Mission Prayer League, has sent one of our own families to be about this important work of God in Latin America. Juan and Anne Fernandez and family were prayed over and sent by God to Bolivia in March. They are getting settled in La Paz and beginning their work. Please keep them in prayer! Follow their story in the making HERE.FEED MY STARVING CHILDREN
Did you know 18,000 children die from starvation every day? Feed My Starving Children (FMSC) is committed to feeding God's starving children hungry in body and spirit. Their approach is simple: Volunteers pack nutritious meals and they partner with relief organizations worldwide to distribute these meals to starving children. It’s a great activity for whole families (kids 5 years and older are welcome when accompanied by an adult). Signup at the FMSC table to go with a St. Luke group.MISSION MIDWAY
Only minutes from the southeast metro suburbs is a neighborhood that has a lot of poverty, homelessness, addiction, and mental illness. St. Luke partners with Bethlehem Lutheran in the Midway to be Jesus’ hands and feet to that community. This means providing clothes and furniture to those in need, holding community suppers, doing Bible camps for local kids, and simply befriending those in the Midway.GULF COAST MISSION TRIP
The devastation of the Mississippi Gulf Coast began in 2005 with hurricanes Rita and Katrina. In 2008, hundreds of displaced residents were still living in dangerous temporary housing when Hurricane Gustav ravaged the area. Now, more than ever, families in the Gulf Coast need Jesus’ love. St. Luke has sent teams to Mississippi in 2009 and 2010 to build houses with Habitat and plans are in the works for another trip.FRIENDS IN NEED
St. Luke supports our local food shelf with regular donations and participates in the annual Share the Joy Christmas present program.
LOAVES & FISHES
St. Luke has a long history of providing food for hungry stomachs through its work with Loaves & Fishes. The first Tuesday of every month, St. Luke provides and serves a meal for those in need in St. Paul.

- request at Saturday night service - on the third Saturday of every month, your prayer requests will be read aloud during worship; on the fourth Saturday of every month, personal prayer time with a minister is available during a special time in worship.
Also:
Prayer Shawls. Shawls are created by caring individuals who pray for the recipient throughout their work. This is another type of prayer which can be requested.
